Posties from Perth visit the Children”s Hospital in Melbourne on 28.11.12 with trustee John Thorpe from Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation (ALCCRF).
The funds we recently donated ($46,037) to the ALCCRF foundation are going to the Children”s Hospital to be put towards some of the funding needed to host a researcher for three years. Currently over the average of all cancers children suffer from 82% of childhood cancer patients recover after treatment. The hospital would obviously like to see this rate increased over time and would love to achieve 100% which is on their wish list and the wish list of ALCCRF also.
But, realistically everyone hopes that through the current research activities this recovery rate will improve over time.
